Brunch. What a fantastic fusion of breakfast and lunch - or rather, a WONDERFUL creation of a meal that we don't really need (but we actually do). Whoever came up with this concept deserves a medal, or if I can locate them, I'll buy them a coffee... over our brunch. Yes, it surely is the meal where anything goes - you can have bircher muesli, the whole fried-up deal with eggs, the crispiest bacon, spicy chorizo, etc, or just a toasted sandwich. Hell, it's brunch, I feel like you can order an entire roasted animal if you so felt inclined.

In this post, my friends, after having brunched and munched my way across Sydney since becoming a self-confessed brunch-addict in recent years (my whole life), I am to share with you the BEST place that I have found for this glorious made-up meal.

Fouratefive

(Please note that I love it so much that even its name is centred and has its own paragraph.) Always buzzing with locals in addition to twenty somethings nursing minor hangovers, this place is amaze. Located in Surry Hills (i.e. Sydney's number 1 foodie haven) on Crown St., it's situated at number, wait for it, 485. Get it? Oh so clever, it is. That's about a 10 minute walk from Central station, if you're wondering. And, yep, it is indeed worth the walk on that beast of a hill up Foveaux St from the station - you have to walk off all that delicious poached egg brunch-y goodness you're ABOUT to consume anyway.

Order my ultimate breakfast when you're there because its done to perfection. That is, haloumi (Cue symphony of groans. I know, I know, I don't SHUT UP about this squeaky cheese), sautéed mushrooms and poached eggs on wholemeal sourdough washed down with a cappuccino ;) PLEASE SEE TO YOUR RIGHT. I feel like it's very difficile to maintain quality across all breakfast components but Fouratefive seem to master it somehow. Have a squidgeredoo (look) at the full menu HERE but just so you're aware, the toasted sandwich and the mexican breakfast are also extremely tasty ;)

It's the Easter long weekend (YAY MORE HOLIDAYS!) so really, what better time is there to brunch than over the next four days?!? There isn't one. Brunch here, my friends! (Isn't it excellent that brunch can be used as a noun AND a verb?! LOVE it.)
